IS EVOKA’S YOGA TEACHER TRAINING FOR YOU?

If one or more of the following applies to you:

✔️ You love yoga and are feeling called to deepen your yoga practice and explore its spiritual path!

✔️ You want to feel welcome in a program that doesn’t expect “perfect poses.” Whether you can do advanced asanas or are still working on fundamentals, you’re here to grow.

✔️ You wish to immerse yourself into a yogic lifestyle, integrating holistic practices into your daily routine and open to exploring a vegetarian diet for the two-week immersion.

✔️You are ready for the challenge of 12-hours daily of learning yoga philosophy, anatomy, alignment, breathwork, meditation and healing modalities.

✔️ You aspire to become a certified yoga teacher with a reputable school. EVOKA is an RYS 200, meaning it is approved by and registered with Yoga Alliance— the body that regulates all yoga schools internationally. Obtaining your yoga teacher certification under a Yoga Alliance-approved school qualifies you for facilitator positions in yoga studios and wellness facilities all over the world.

✔️ You would like to expand beyond traditional yoga classes to offer sound healing, breath work, meditation and other nervous-system regulation practices.

✔️ You're interested in personal attention and mentorship —and not getting lost in a big sea of students from a commercialized yoga program.

✔️ You love beautiful tropical beaches and being surrounded by nature.

This training might not be for you if:
✘ You're only looking for a workout and aren’t interested in yoga philosophy, self-inquiry, or spiritual growth.
✘ You're not open to being part of a diverse group of individuals of all levels of ability and backgrounds.
✘ You're unable to commit fully to both the in-person and online portions of the training.

YOGA TRAINING STUDENT PRE-REQUISITES

Basic Yoga Experience

Prior experience with yoga asana is highly recommended. We suggest the trainee practice 3-5 yoga classes per week (any level) leading up to the training. This will ensure everyone has a solid and steady foundation of the practice and we can explore from a similar starting point. Ability to do intermediate or advanced poses is not required but there will be options to learn, practice and learn to teach advanced asanas as well! Remember— you can understand and learn how to safely teach advanced poses without being able to do them yourself.

Health

Trainee should be in good physical condition. Yoga teacher trainings require 2-4 hours per day of movement so it's essential to be prepared. Our classes are accessible to most ability levels. There are no requirements to perform intermediate/advanced asanas. Classes offered throughout the training will be a variety of strong and gentle styles. Participants are encouraged to participate in activities suited for their experience level and can alternatively modify all parts of class or observe some classes while taking notes.

Dedication + Commitment

Yoga teacher training is intensive and requires dedication of time and focus. Trainee must be prepared to commit to the program's schedule and coursework. Trainee must expect to be in class, working on assignments and studying for 12-13 hours per training day.

Clean Lifestyle

We recommend trainees abstain from alcohol/substances 10-30 days prior to arriving and during the in-person training, and to follow an ayurvedic/ vegetarian diet.

Age Requirements

18 years or older.

Openness

Come with an open mind and an open heart!
